What is Pilates?

Pilates is a series of moves that gently stretch and strengthen muscles which can be the cause of ongoing aches and pains. Pilates focuses on the core postural muscles that help keep the body balanced and provide support for the spine. An incorrect posture can be the cause of back, shoulder, hip and knee pain.

Pilates exercises can help by strengthening the deep abdominal muscles, teaching awareness of breath and alignment of the pelvis and spine, resulting in:
